About Me….Hmmm…. First and foremost, I am a wife and a mother of four loud, sometimes rambunctious, and always amazing children. (I may be a little biased). Who could even think of asking for any more blessings than that? And yet, there are so many more. Like just about every other family I know, our lives are a hectic mess of work, carpool, school, meals, homework, scouts, etc. But at the end of the day, there is so much love to go around that sometimes I feel like I can’t even begin to take it all in. My heart is so full.
I have always known that I have wanted to be a mom. Even as a little girl, I remember being so incredibly fascinated by newborns and children. From their rosy little cheeks, to their chubby little fingers, to all the sweet little rolls that make tiny dimples in their knees. I was constantly studying their perfect little details. I remember being that little girl you would see walking around the neighborhood, swinging my ponytail, while pushing a stroller full of baby dolls. I couldn’t wait to have my own. As I got older, that fascination with babies continued. I graduated from college with a degree in nursing. From there, I immediately specialized in Labor and Delivery and began working in the busiest Labor and Delivery unit in the United States. I have been so blessed to be a part of helping countless mothers bring their new babies into this world. In my heart, I thought that this is where I would spend my working career. But sometimes, God has plans for us that are more wonderful than we can even imagine.
And that brings us to the beginning of a new chapter in my life. As is the story for so many photographers, my journey into photography began with the birth of my first child. It was the most exciting, scary, wonderful experience in my entire life. All of a sudden, a tiny, new life became ours to help mold into the amazing human being that he is. My sweet baby boy grew and changed everyday. It was at this time in my life that I came to the realization that all the precious moments in life are fleeting. I so desperately wanted to be able to stop time so that I could fully soak in every experience, even if for just a few short moments. I knew then that photography was the only way preserve these memories for a lifetime. I began documenting everything. I won’t even admit to how many pictures I have of my children!
Several years and three more children later, God placed two photographers into my life at the exact same time. For some reason, unbeknownst to me, I was so incredibly blessed that these two photographers took me under their wings and became my mentors. Their teachings were instrumental in helping me to learn the art of photography. And now here I am, by God’s amazing plan, a professional photographer that is so blessed to capture the very stages in life that I love the most. I would be honored to be the photographer that preserves the first moments in your own baby’s story, so that you too may enjoy these moments for a lifetime.
Thank you for everything, Kathleen and Mark…I wouldn’t be here without you both! But most of all, thank you to my amazing husband who has been my rock and my biggest supporter throughout this entire journey!
